Make our planet green again!

In August, 2017 a huge windstorm destroyed millions of trees in Lipusz – a place located 70 kilometers from Gdansk. It was the biggest forest cataclysm in Poland ever. Until now, approximately 800 hectares of destroyed forests have been renovated but still – it’s only 20% of all. There is still couple of thousands of hectares to be reborn.

Great initiative

Few months ago, one of our business partner – Torus – came to us with a great initiative of rebuilding destroyed forest with the help of other companies located in Tricity. The idea was so fantastic so nearly immediately we have taken the decision to get involved in this action. It has reached our hearts and minds so much that we couldn’t refuse ourselves and joined Do Nasadzenia as logistics partner of a whole event. Our main task was to organize the bus transport for nearly 800 people who declared to participate in the action and plan the schedule of logistics from Gdańsk and back to it after planting the new forest.

57 000 seedlings

LSY was represented by proud group of 60, where we could find not only our colleagues from the office but also their families and friends. It was a great opportunity to spend some time together and get to know each other better, in slightly different surrounding than office corridors. Time was running very fast during planting so we didn’t even know that we’ve planted more seedlings than the organizer had planned before the event. To sum up – 800 people, 57 000 seedlings, and seven hectares of renovated forest… Sound impressive, right? We’re very happy that as a company we had a chance to support this eco-awareness action and do something valuable for our local environment.
